The Southern Spars Group of Companies (Southern) specialise in the design and manufacture of world class carbon fibre spars, components and rigging, and the provision of rig servicing for cruising and racing yachts around the world. Modern masts can be more than 65 metres in length and increasingly use is being made of carbon rigging made exclusively by Southern. The total mast and rigging packages for the biggest superyachts now exceeds $10 million. Superyacht projects take up to 35,000 hours over 24 months.

Gosh, I think I know what a Trade Worker does but what on earth is an Information Worker - is it a fancy new technical name for Clerical worker?
Well sort of. The term is a generic one and applies to people who work with electronic data all day in all the various ways that it arrives on our desktop or mobile screen and includes internet, ERP and custom applications.
So why do you say Epicor's Information worker if it's a generic term?
"Information Worker", or as we say IW, is an Epicor product that leverages a Microsoft framework and its own products (Service Connect and E-Portal) to provide access to Epcior ERP data from Microsoft Office applications™.
WOW what does that mean for my daily work?
Can you remember emailing someone and you needed to get some information from your business application? Then, once you got into the business application and found the information you needed, you couldn't get it back into your email.
With Epicor IW, you no longer have to leave what you are currently doing to get the data you need. Simply download the data directly into your Microsoft Office application. With a few clicks of the mouse, add Epicor contacts, tasks, calendar items, and other data into your Outlook lists or email messages.
Do you need to use Microsoft Word templates and mail merge to get your message out? With Epicor IW, it's a snap to create and save new document templates or load existing templates and populate them with your Epicor data.
We all know how useful Microsoft Excel is for massaging data and creating great charts and graphs. Epicor IW simplifies the process by allowing you to bring the data you need directly into your worksheet. Best of all, once you have downloaded the data you need, you are able to work with it in either a connected or disconnected manner and then synchronise any changes back to your Epicor ERP solution as necessary.

 In December 2007, Solar Systems chose Epicor's Vantage ERP software along with COGITA for the implementation. Given their expected strong growth forecasts for solar power plants they anticipate being extensive users of advanced Vantage functionality.
