Home JOB about jobs @ COGITA how you can start a new career

FIRST TIME VISITOR?
YOU CAN START A NEW CAREER @ COGITA Print E-mail

You can start a new career at COGITA. That's right; you can start a new career at COGITA even if you do not have the right experience or qualifications for a career in sales, marketing, software, hardware, operating systems, client support, manufacturing systems, plant asset management systems, complex ERP systems, online desktop support ... or any of the other jobs related to sales and support of software based technologies for manufacturing and distribution companies.

BEFORE YOU CAN START A NEW CAREER

Before you can start a new career you must complete and successfully pass one of our scheduled professional internship courses. COGITA does not charge you for participation. You have to provide your own writing materials and purchase or borrow (from your local library) some of your text books. You have to do all the assigned reading, after hours study and frequent tests. You do not get paid for doing a professional internship course.

PROFESSIONAL INTERNSHIPS ARE INTENSE

Professional internships last five weeks and cover two stages which will assess interns in four areas:

  • applied intellect
  • character
  • communication
  • problem solving in the job applicant's designated discipline. e.g. marketing, finance, network support, helpdesk services.

Two weeks long, with tests, or examinations, every day, the first stage evaluates the professional intern with respect to the first three of the criteria above. Interns who pass the first stage can proceed to the second stage. Three weeks long, the second stage evaluates the intern with respect to the last of the above criteria. The COGITA internship program instructor's assessment and pass/fail gradings are final.

COGITA accepts professional interns of all ages from all countries. The professional internship program is designed to give COGITA a close-up view and formal assessment of job candidates who have insufficient job experience to be considered for full time jobs.

Before they can begin interns must accept that the COGITA internship instructor's assessment and pass/fail gradings are final. Interns where appropriate must:

  • have a valid passport which will be current for the term of the internship
  • provide evidence of having enough funds to live in New Zealand or Australia in whatever city the intern is posted to a COGITA office.
  • provide proof of return travel tickets to the intern's home country and city
  • obtain the correct study visa for Australia and/or New Zealand
  • provide proof of medical and emergency insurance

Interns must at all times comply with the terms and conditions of their study / educational immigration visas. Interns do not perform paid work for COGITA clients.

FULL TIME WORK FOR PROFESSIONAL INTERNSHIP GRADUATES

After passing both stages of the professional internship program interns are eligible for full time employment at COGITA with the normal terms and conditions of employment at COGITA under the appropriate employment legislation (Australia or New Zealand but not both). Usually the graduate intern will be required to perform specified work for a gap period of up to twelve months. Different from the probation period, the gap period is designed to give the graduate intern sufficient time to familiarise themselves with the COGITA environment (How you can do well in COGITA) and choose a discipline for the beginning of a new professional life.
